show date metadata - similar to display details - show folder name, picture name, email details
It would be really nice to be able to show the date the picture was taken (pulled from file properties) on the actual image showing on the frame. There is already the option to show Folder Name - Picture Name - Email Details.

Allow color temperature adjustment
All 3 frames I've set up display pics much cooler (bluer) than they appear on any other device or in print (and much cooler than intended). Skin tones look zombie-ish. A firmware update allowing adjustment to a warmer color temperature globally would make this a perfect frame. As is, it makes all your good photographic work for naught...

This was a technical limitation on older hardware.
Since November 1st, 2015, all new Pix-Star sold on the market have now the possibility to adjust Saturation and HUE in addition to Brightness.

Kudos for the USB keyboard interface, BTW!
You should note in your documentation that you can plug in a USB keyboard, which makes the initial setup MUCH easier. Entering my WiFi password, navigating through the menus with the arrow keys, really, really nice!

File management on frame should display a thumbnail and be sorted by last received.
I cannot find a specific video to delete without sorting through Every file on the frame. The files are completely random order in the management section, without thumbnails. The online acct delete didn't remove the video from the frame. Video is too large and sends the frame into a loop, making it useless

Allow deletion of audio messages
Currently, audio messages cannot be deleted. I sent a test message with the Android app, and now it's stuck as the only audio message on my grandmother's frame. Please allow the option to delete audio messages the same way users can delete photos!

The function to delete the audio message is already implemented. Please make sure you have the latest sotware version.
To delete the audio message, you can go to
My Photo-Mail Inbox → My Voice Messages.
Then press on Select files to delete, and select all the Audio Messages you wish to delete, and the last step is to press on Delete selected files.

Remote Firmware Update
It would be great if an "Update Firmware" button could be added to the Pix-Star portal. We bought two frames, the closest of which is 2 hours away. Neither of the recipients are particularly tech savy.

Option to play last 5, 10, 20, 60, all pictures for Grandparents who cannot manage the frame themselves
Great Grandparents/Uncles/Aunts cannot manage their local device. Either create an option for remote login management (delete or do not display) of the my inbox photos received via email or limit the pictures displayed to the last 5, 10,20....you get the idea.
4 votesThere is already inside the frame a feature to play only latest received pictures based on the date, for example the last 3 days, last 7 days, last 30 days.
This feature does the same thing as you describe here and should answer your need.

Use email subject as picture name
I wonder if it may be possible for the Frame to use the email subject as the picture title. This would make it so much easier to name pictures so that the recipient can identify what they're looking at!

Just wanted to say thanks for a great product. My 91 year old mother feels like she connects with her family when she sees the photos they add daily.
She doesn’t have internet service but I put a hotspot in her home and it works great.1 voteThe pix-star Team thank you very much for your support.

better transitions between photos: fade to black for example
I find the fade transition to be a bit jerky. Looks like a processor issue, but if not.. maybe it could be improved. Also, it would be nice to have a fade to black transition. I think this is also called dip to black.

Sort external web albums alphabetically
When importing external pictures the albums are not shown in order, which makes finding specific albums difficult. Please present a sorted list. Specifically, I use SmugMug so I don't know if this problem exists with other sources.

Improved Randomization Logic
The current Randomizing option will cycle through photos however it tends to repeat multiple photos throughout the slideshow. I especially noted that if the photo frame goes to sleep for some time, it seems to start back at the beginning of the previous randomization cycle.
An improved randomization logic would be one where photos will not repeat, until every picture has been viewed. This could be accomplished with a logic that would have to maintain a table of all the photos listed and it would randomly hit each photo, but without repeating. our implementation already works exactly as you describe:
step 1 a list of all the picture to be played in the slide show is built.
step 2 their position (index) is shuffled in the list by changing randomly their position.
so this method is a 100% guaranty that each picture plays only 1 for sure.
of course if you do have duplicate inside the frame then in the random they are also duplicate.
but the random method by itself for sure does not create duplicate it is impossible with this method.

Ability to change orientation
I rotated some photos before sending them, but they got rotated back when they were received by Pixstar.

Actually it is not necessarily a problem on the frame, it usually is a problem with the software you used to rotate the picture?
some software rate on the screen but when you save it doe sNOT save the new orientation, so it is lost. so when your system receive it the rotation info is lost so it can’t find it.
also could you send that picture to us by email to " info@pix-star.com " so that i check the rotation information inside?

Create an app the will allow the user to manage their pix star account. Currently I am unable to move pictures while on the web site account using my iPad

Great product-Thanks! Set up a challenge using th buttons on the back. How about a touch screen interface?
Set up was difficult using the buttons on the back. Once frame was registered much easier. My suggestion is to include a touch screen interface--I keep hitting keys to input by Wi-Fi network--using buttons on back and then clicking Ok was time consuming. Thanks

Repeating reminders based on date
To be able to setup reminders for birthdays, anniversaries, and other yearly repeating reminders. Looks like the only repeating reminders you can setup are by the day of the week.
