play video, preferably from folder of mixed photos and video
I store folders of mixed photo and short video clips (like from a vacation). It would be nice if when I select that folder to play a slideshow, the frame play BOTH the photos and video clips that are in the same folder. I don't think video is currently supported, but wouldn't that be cool to see a mixed photo and video slideshow?

it appears when i upload a movie type of MOV or MP4. it changes it to a JPG. and it used to play... Like charles said about early 2022 it stopped. playing new videos. however if you download them to a computer it converts them back to a MOV or MP4 and you can play htem on your computer.

From the letters I read here, there must have been something wrong with my Pixstar when it was gifted to me two years ago....From the beginning, it has played videos,up until about a month ago, when it started freezing up when a video came on...
My wife of 65 years died about 9 months ago, and I sit and watch it for hours on end....I think I have close to a thousand pictures on it.... -

Please, what was the outcome to this? I, too, would like this to happen.

Where is the answer and solution to this? Where are you Pixstar?

Why is it that only certain videos play and others do not?

I love my new Pix-Star Wi-Fi frame. I too would like to be able to play a folder of intermixed folders and video. It would be great if I could then upload videos to a web folder. I just tried that, and got a message that video filetypes are not supported for uploading. I hope that is changed.

I had two video clips on my frame but they soon went in go slow motion so I had to delete them which was a shame. Video would be good

Best idea would be to process video through mypixtar website and convert it to a compatible format to be displayed

An option to play sound or not would also be nice. No need scaring the grandparents with voices coming from inside the house. :-)

Video is a great idea but super challenging with the various formats, frame sizes, aspect ratios, frame rates, field orders, bit rates... etc. just to support HD playback from apple devices alone across versions.. iphone 3, 4, 5, 6 ... would require different player capabilities. perhaps if Pix-Star stuck to two or three popular video formats it would work for most devices but my guess is that this would present a support nightmare. Perhaps an web integration point with youtube might work better but streaming video wirelessly across home networks presents a different set of challenges. Don't get me wrong, I'm a strong vote for adding video capability but do understand the reluctance.

I agree. I have digital photo frame that supported video that was purchased over 7 years ago, but it doesn't have the wifi features of this device.
It doesn't matter to me if it automatically plays the video from the folder being displayed, just have the video stored for easy access. I really want one central location for all my memories.
Please let me know when this will be available. I will wait to purchase.

It would be a great asset to your frame. Worth a little more money for the frame.

I've researched other frames and they don't provide the services you do. The ease of e-mailing a picture over and having them uploaded to my frame is a convenience that keeps me using the frames. Past frames where I had to hook the frame to the computer are no longer used. With smartphones taking quality pictures and videos, we have the convenience now to take short video clips of special moments. I would LOVE to by a frame for Pictures and/or Video. I imagine a time when I'm at home and I'm looking at a video of something that happened years ago (not just a picture). I hope you would consider making a frame that loads pictures and video or just video.

I, too, support the idea of being able to view videos.
