Auto-connect to available public wifi or mobile hotspots
My father-in-law is in a nursing home without public (open) WiFi network. It would be great to have the PixStar "automatically" connect and retrieve new pictures whenever it sniffs out a open hotspot. If someone comes into the building with a cell phone mobile hotspot enabled or if I'm visiting him, the frame can be updated without permanent connection to a WiFi network.

Hi Hil....I have not pursued this further recently. But, with the advent of Amazon Alexa, Facebook portal, etc one would think that nursing homes and assisted living facilities would be getting lots of these requests.....
The facility could add a 2.4Ghz WiFi router for just this purpose alone. I do understand that many guest WiFi have the built-in terms that is a checkbox...sorry

Did you figure out how to connect to guest WiFi?
We bought this frame for my grandparents. They live at a retirement home with guest WiFi.
When trying to connect to guest WiFi there is no way to accept the “terms” of the guest WiFi rendering the frame useless.
Did you say you are at least able to connect to a guest wifi? -

I have the same issue. Too bad this was declined. As Dani said, many people who would enjoy your product are in hospitals and nursing homes.

Dani....Yes I can setup a frame in a nursing home if the facility has a public WiFi network. What I was asking was to see if the frame could "auto" pair with any public network.

Sad to see this declined - a major use case of this device is grandparents in hospitals and nursing homes!
