issues on flickr

Please remove the "bounce effect" when manually going thru pictures; it's really annoying!
The bounce effect is nice the first 2 or 3 times it is used; after that, it just gets annoying; and it is even more so for older people that are not used to this kind of glitz....and of course, older folks are the majority of users.
The bounce effect also seems to slow down the ability to progress rapidly through pictures. If you must keep this effect, make it optional.
This brings up another request. It would be nice to be able to manually move quickly through an album. Moving one picture at a time is tedious (especially with…

To navigate more quickly inside an album that is playing in the slide show use the THUMBNAIL this has been design for quick navigation.
When slideshow is playing, press the MENU button then choose the 3rd button from bottom the thumbnail will open then navigate quickly to the picture you want to show and press OK/Play to play it back in slide show.

Transitions between pictures
Is there anyway to select what transitions the frame uses to get to the next photo? I would choose to change photos more frequently but the wizy "Fly in" , "Spinning" and "Bouncing" transitions are distracting in a room.
E.g. I would go for a simple fade in, fade out which would make the frame more subtle and allow me to choose more frequent picture changes.

When the slide show is playing just press MENU button. On the left side a menu bar will show up.
In this menu bar go to the 2nd button from the BOTTOM named “options”, inside go to “transition” and here select or un-select the transition you want or don’t want.
Inside there is a simple fading effect transition that you can choose.

Dynamically sync photos from Dropbox folder
Hi,
I am lokoing at buying a few picture frames for my family.
I need the frame to be able to connect to a folder in my Dropbox folder structure and dynamically show the contents of that folder.
When I take a picture with my cell on Christmas Eve, that picture will travel up to a folder in my Dropbox account automatically. I then want the same picture to be automatically downloaded onto the Picture frame and shown for my grand parents :-)Does your product support such functionality?

Yes the pix-star does connect to Dropbox folder and auto update 2 to 3 times a day when new content is added.

Problem resolved
While putting the remote behind the device it turned the on/off switch to the off position. The issue was resolved. Thank you.

Plan for extra utilization of your server resources around holidays - e.g. Christmas...
It is reasonable to expect significantly increased traffic around holidays, especially Christmas. Lease extra capacity from providers, like Amazon.

Have the Clock and Calendar hide in the background while weather pages are displayed.
I currently use the clock and calendar in the top right corner of the screen, however when any of the weather pages are displayed the clock and calendar cover and obscure the information on those pages in the upper right corner. It would be nice to have the clock and calendar disappear when the weather pages are displayed similar to how it disappears when the Daily Information page is displayed

Actually the 24 hours mode already exist for English language, if you go to the CHANGE SETTINGS menu then to
AUTO ON & OFF
menu, at the very bottom you have the TIME FORMAT choice then inside if you choose:
DD/MM/YYYY
it will automatically change this to 24 h mode for the time display.

Hello,
There is already such feature and it’s quite easy.
From your account at pix-star.com log into it and go to the left/middle to
import external pictures.
then you can import pictures from Picasa or Dropbox easily.

friendlier radio selection in slideshow
Provide recent radio selector within slideshow. It is not my experience that it auto-returns from radio selection to slides and it's terribly modal as is. Radio selection should be more intuitive at any rate, with recent stations at the top of the options.

I found a bug
Hey Pix-Star,
I found a bug. When I turn the internet radio music down and then turn it off. If I turn it on again the volume won't go back up unless I turn my frame off and restart it. Hope this gets fixed with a new firmware update. Thanks,

Actually after reviewing this it is NOT a bug, it is the normal way the system works.
When you adjust the volume it will memorise it, so next time you play it uses the previous volume adjusted value.
it’s the same on your HiFi system or your TV, if you put the volume to 0 then it will remain at 0 till you increase it again.
this is normal behaviour.
Having said that, we are investigating how to improve that situation to users to avoid the misunderstanding you are in right now.

Awesome Frame!!!!
Hi - I just wanted to let you know that I purchased a PixStar Frame for my husband's birthday - we got it yesterday, opened it up and had it working in minutes! We LOVE it! He wanted a digital frame and his requirement was that we could e-mail or somehow easily get the pictures from our iPhones to the frame. I search on Amazon and came up with this frame! So happy I found it - we just love it and it's been less that 24 hours!

User interface needs a key/legend
The page where I can view my photo Inbox has a green light besides some photos and a red light besides others. I have no idea what this means. Thanks!

If you gently put the mouse on the little red or green dot (without clicking on it) you get a pop up window showing up with the relevant detailed explanation of the meaning of the red and green dot.

Allow web albums to be sent to the frame for offline use
Please add a way to send albums (or selected images in a web album) to the frame for offline use.
Alternatively, add a new album type to the web page, Frame Album, that is automatically copied to the frame, much like the e-mail inbox.

It is already like this.
All web albums are completely downloaded to the frame’s local memory and stay inside the memory so that even without Wi-Fi you can play them.
It is NOT streaming.

Improve the video playback.
Playing videos has problems. The entire soundtrak plays while Pixstar displays the first frame, then the video plays with no sound.

iCloud
Allow uploads from the Apple iCloud service (that is what one of my kids uses to save all of his photos).

iCloud is a service from Apple and only for Apple. It is not open to 3rd parties. So none except Apple can access to this service to build new application. For this reason it is not possible for u stop import pictures from iCloud to the frame and no one except Apple is able to do so.
The might change in the future so we will follow up on this closely but on the short term there is no solution.
