Allow you to rename the photos and or add captions
Would be nice to have a very brief description/caption displayed with the photo

I just set this up for my dad's 90th birthday gift next week. My brother asked about adding a caption as they travel and would like Dad to know where the pic is from. This would be a great feature to add. Hope it happens soon!

Seriously?!
5.5 years 'Under Review'! It's become obvious that this is either not possible or you are choosing not to pursue it. If it is not possible, then you need to tell us so we know. If you are choosing not to pursue, then you need to tell us so we can shop for other products that will.
This seems to be a basic 'given' that we would want to communicate what the picture is about. -

Still would like to be able to add caption. This seems like a popular request. "Overlay" only works on photo email. HELP! Please provide update ASAP. Starting to regret my purchase! :-(

Is there an update on this? My bf got this frame for me and I would really like something to add caption option or we can keep shopping. Really hate to rerun the product- please advise.

Agreed!! I got this for my grandmother who has alzheimers / dementia and it would be nice to be able to add names or a small decription to the bottom of the photo or rename it in the album so that it displays the information I am trying to share with her as she has a tendency to forget easily who is who.

Would like this option. Please add

Using this frame for my dad with alzheimers - being able to add the names of the people in the pix so that they display across the bottom would be SO helpful - this would mean being able to add them via the pix-star app or website since this is not contained in the original photo information

I would also like to rename/add captions within a PixStar album.

PixStar asked for our input or suggestions to improve the product, so tell us WHEN will we have the capability to add caption or text to pictures?

How can I add words to my pictures? I would like to add names and years on the pictures.
Thanks,

Half of my photos won't allow a caption. Would be nice to add dates, especially since we have pictures from previous years that we would like to add. Should also be able to edit/add captions once photos are loaded.

Can’t even upload or download albums forget dates. Every picture has been mixed with multiple events. Really useless. You have pics on website but not on frame. Yes frame online, plug in plug out. Website duplicates. Forget videos none and dates....joke. Please help fix. At this point you stole my pics and put in different albums and order. Please fix

I am very grateful to” toandfro53” for suggesting how to put captions on Photos in Pix-Star using a Mac.
I would like to add some suggestions. Take any jpg, either by pulling it out of “Photos” onto your desktop or getting it from your iPhone. Make a copy and keep the original intact. Use the Markup feature. Add textbox, which will appear in the center of the photo. Drag it to where you want it (I prefer lower right corner). Change background color so you can see it (light grey is nice). Select font size, color, bold or italics, make frame if desired. Be sure it is correct before saving, because once saved, you cannot change it. You will have to start over (that is why it is important to save original).
If you put nunbers in front of the title of the photo/document (not the caption) (01, 02 ,03, etc,), you can control the order in which the photos will be displayed on the device. I find that a folder on my desktop is easier to work with than putting the photos back into “Photos” and creating a folder there.

I just set up my frame for the first time and this was the first thing that I tried to do. I see this was submitted in 2014 and is under review. I hope it launches very soon!

Yes, I agree too. But, here is a short cut around it if you are a Mac user. Pull the photo you want to send onto your desktop. It will open in Preview. In Preview, you can add text to the photo. Then drag it back into Photos. You can then send it with a label.

Is there any plans to add captions. I have thousands of pictures and would like the ability to identify each photo.

This would be an awesome addition. I am reading through the suggestions and wholeheartedly agree with the request to add captions to photos. This is one of the key reasons why I will not recommend this digital frame to friends and colleagues.
