Support High Efficiency Image Format (.HEIC files)
Apple switched to .HEIC files a couple years ago and Android is adopting them as well, but these files don't appear on my Pix-Star PXT510WR04 FotoConnect XD 10.4 inch. Please update the firmware of existing frames to support Support High Efficiency Image Format. I know my phone can be configured to use JPEG files, but configuring my phone to overcome a limitation of a PIx-Star frame isn't the way to promote Pix-Star in 2019 and beyond.
In the meantime, please add a Knowledge Base article describing High Efficiency Image Format, the plan for Pix-Star support, and which frames will support the format.
Thanks!

Now HEIC format is supported when sent by email or uploading to a web album in the account.
Send sending for the iOS app they were already supported before.

It would be good if HEIC format was also supported for images on the SD card

All my current photos are now ALL HEIC format and it's agrgravating not to be able to view these current and numerous photos on any of my FOUR pixstar frames!!! Please (and asking kindly), add the HEIC format to the PIXSTAR acceptable format list for everyone since we have been asking since 2018 (it appears reading over comment RE: HEIC on this support page) My investment of FOUR pixstar frames (and the numerous other family and friend to whom I have highly recommended Pixstar frames) are soon to be obsolete and useless for view CURRENT FORMATS from Ipad or Android photo formats, etc. PLEASE consider programing HEIC format for use with your products. -- Respectfully YET begging -- 6/12/2021

When do you plan to address this issue? It's been a problem since at least 2018.

Dear Pix-Star,
Your support page says "Ask us anything, we are here for you!" Well, we're asking... Will you please add support for .HEIC files?
There is an open source library that you can use to convert .HEIC files to .JPEG. All you have to do is use it: https://github.com/strukturag/libheif
libheif even has an online demo that implements the library in javascript and demonstrates it using your browser: https://strukturag.github.io/libheif/ (upload a .HEIC image from your iPhone and your browser can convert it to .JPEG). libheif includes bindings for C++, python, and NodeJS. It should take your developers a day or two to incorporate it into your frames.
Nearly half of your customers are generating .HEIC files on their phones and can't display those photos on your frames! It's 2021 now. Looking forward to a firmware update soon that includes support for .HEIC files. :-)
Thanks!

I was about to get a new pixstar frame- years of my photos are on my frame. Plus. I have been telling everyone about pixstar frames. However, now it will not upload the HEIC photos off my new iphone? This messes up my whole photo system. Beyond frustrating. Isn't there something you can do to update the frames? Unfortunately, you will lose business if this cannot be addressed as more and more people use this format. Thanks.

I have been trying to load new photos this morning and it's not working. So frustrating. It used to be a slow process, but at least it worked. Lo a behold, it's the HEIC file issue. I am so disappointed. I have changed the settings on my phone but that doesn't help with the ones that are already on my computer and no longer on my phone. My next frame most likely will not be a Pix-Star unless this gets straightened out soon.

I just bought this frame and have most my pics saved already in a shared google drive. They are HEIC format and won’t upload to the frame. I got it for my mom, on the verge of returning if I can’t work it out!

This is absurd that the HEIC file format is not being supported. So basically, PixStar your ignoring everyone with an iPhone - thanks.

Do you have any plans to do this? Questions have been coming in for over a year and you do not respond!

This is a serious issue, for all my new pictures will not upload since they are HEIC. Please upgrade the software quickly...

Some think that the HEIC format is an Apple innovation. It is not. It was developed by the same group that developed the JPG format. Apple was simply among the first to implement it.
Are there any plans to update the Pix-Star software so that it supports this new format?
