Memory full: load image when it is it's turn
I just purchased a frame and found that SAMBA and DLNA downloads all of the images to local memory before playing the slideshow. I purchased this picture frame to show all of our wedding photos. We have a lot of wedding photos. I was hoping that I could just connect this picture frame to a SAMBA share and play all of our pictures. Unfortunately, the picture frame says out of memory now and won't let me copy pictures to an SD card or anything.
Can I get a different display mode called "lazy load"? It shouldn't be too difficult to implement. You read and save the list of filenames, sort them how you need to according to the sorting mode, keep track of the filenames being displayed, when it is time to display the next picture (s) load the image (s) at runtime and display them, then just clean up the memory of the old pictures that are no longer being displayed.
This will allow me to store and play a large number of images without having "Memory Full" errors.

Can we revisit this feature? Or has it already been updated to do this?

This is exactly what I was looking for. Why was this idea denied without comment?
I thought the mode "Repeat last photos 1 month" would automatically select the photos of the last 30 days from my NAS (via SAMBA or DLNA). But as Justin wrote the Frame tries to first load all photos from my NAS to the Frame and it seems to start with the oldest ones. No possibility to select only the latest/newest ones.
